Campaign use of judicial robe is not intended to imply incumbency.

As a Pierce County Superior Court Commissioner, Ingrid McLeod decides a wide variety of legal issues facing the community, including matters involving civil commitment, civil protection orders, juvenile dependency, juvenile offender, family law, landlord-tenant, and probate and guardianship.  In this role, Commissioner McLeod has direct experience deciding issues in the types of cases handled by Superior Court Judges.  Commissioner McLeod’s judicial service is distinguished by her preparation, knowledge of the law, unwavering integrity, and commitment to ensuring everyone’s voice is heard.

Before becoming a judicial officer, Commissioner McLeod focused her legal practice on helping people and families navigate challenging life circumstances through probate administration, trust and estate litigation, and guardianship proceedings.  She also worked on complex civil litigation, including business and financial disputes, real estate and land use cases, and personal injury matters.  For four years, she investigated and reported to the court regarding the best interests of some of the most vulnerable members of our community as a Title 11 RCW Guardian ad Litem (now Court Visitor) in guardianship proceedings.  Before entering private practice, Commissioner McLeod served as a Law Clerk to Judge Lisa Worswick (Ret.) at the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division II, where she helped the Court review and analyze appeals in many areas, including criminal, family law, and complex civil litigation cases.

Commissioner McLeod is active and well-respected in the legal community.  She is a longtime Board member and served as the 2023-2024 President of the Hon. Robert J. Bryan Chapter of the American Inns of Court, whose members include current and retired Justices and Judges, lawyers from all practice areas and experience levels, and law students.  Commissioner McLeod is an enthusiastic advocate for the mission of the American Inns of Court of furthering Civility, Professionalism, and Excellence in the legal profession.  She also served six terms as a member of the Board of the Pierce County Chapter of Washington Women Lawyers.

Commissioner McLeod is also a frequent presenter on legal topics, including continuing education programming sponsored by the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association and as a faculty member presenting on guardianship and conservatorship law at the Administrative Office of the Courts’ annual Judicial College program for all new Commissioners and Judges across Washington.  In 2017, Ingrid McLeod was a recipient of the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association’s Service to the Legal Profession Award.  Her accomplishments have also been recognized through her annual election to the Super Lawyer’s Rising Stars list from 2016 until her appointment as a Court Commissioner in 2021.

The depth and breadth of Commissioner McLeod’s experience make her the clear choice for Judge in Pierce County Superior Court Judge, Department 15.
